Abstract
Malpraktis means 'medical malpractice' with the Turkish expression derived from the Latin words 'male' and 'prakxis'. It can also be expressed as the undesirable harm of the individual who receives the treatment as a result of applying the diagnosis and treatment that is not necessary due to faults and negligence, or making the wrong application. Despite the fact that healthcare personnel are working correctly and without errors, there is always the possibility of making such misapplications. Therefore; Both patients and their relatives who are faced with malpractice have the right to take legal action. This study was carried out in order to reveal the effects of Malpractice lawsuits, which have increased in recent years, on the motivation and burnout of physicians. The study population consists of Ministry of Health Hospitals, Private Hospitals and Obstetricians and Gynecologists who practice their profession as self-employed physicians in our country. Questionnaire technique was used in the study. The study sample consists of 390 Gynecologists and Obstetricians. The surveys were conducted online. According to the research results; It was observed that 51.4% of the participants faced malpractice lawsuits and 46.0% of them had administrative investigations. In addition, as a result of the study, the correlation coefficients between the two variables were found to be statistically significant in accordance with the literature. It is seen that there is a negative relationship between Job Motivation and Burnout. According to the standard regression coefficient, 1 unit increase in the Burnout variable is expected to cause a 0.657 unit decrease in the Job Motivation variable.
