Industrial Engineering is a field of engineering that develops and applies methods and techniques to design, implement, develop and improve systems comprising of humans, materials, machines, energy and funding. Our department was founded in 1998, and since then, has graduated hundreds of individuals who may compete nationally and internationally into professional life. Accredited by MÜDEK in 2014, our student-centered education continues. In addition to acquiring the knowledge necessary for every Industrial engineer, our students are able to gain professional experience in their desired fields of expertise with a wide array of elective courses, such as E-commerce and ERP, Reliability, Tabulation, or Industrial Engineering Applications in the Energy Sector. With dissertation projects fictionalized on solving real problems at real companies, our students gain experience in the sector, and a wide network of contacts. Our education is supported with ERASMUS programs. With the scientific studies of our competent academic staff published in internationally-renowned magazines, our department ranks with the bests among other universities. IESC, one of the most active student networks at our university, continues to organize extensive, and productive events every year.

Abstract

Elektrik tüketimi günden güne artmaktadır. Bu yüzden elektrik toplumun olağan yaşantısını devam ettirebilmesi için önemli bir hammadde halini almıştır. Günümüzde farklı tekniklerle elektrik üretimi sağlansa da, elektrik sınırlı bir kaynaktır. Bu yüzden bu hammaddenin üretimi tüketimi ve hatta iletimi büyük bir önem arz etmektedir. Bundan kaynaklı, elektrik tüketimin artması ile birlikte elektrik dağıtım şirketlerinin sorumlulukları artmaktadır. Bu tez çalışmasında, hali hazırda aktiflik gösteren bu dağıtım firmalarının mevcut pazardaki rollerini anlamak için etkinlikleri inceleyeceğiz ve verimli olup olmadıkları çıkarımlarda bulunacağız. Analizlerin gerçekleştirebilmesi için ilk olarak girdi ve çıktılar konusunda karar kılındı. Yüzölçümü, yatırım miktarı, toplam iletim hattı uzunluğu ve kadrolu eleman sayısı değerlerinin girdi olarak kullanılmasına karar verildi. Toplam tüketici sayısı ve dağıtımdan bağlı tüketicilerin tüketim miktarı ise çıktı olarak kullanılmasına karar verildi. Bu değerler kullanılarak faaliyet gösteren 21 firmanın 2022 yılı için göreceli verimlilikleri hesaplandı.
Electricity consumption is increasing day by day, making electricity a crucial resource to sustain the normal life of society. While various techniques are used for electricity generation today, electricity remains a finite resource. Therefore, the production, consumption, and even distribution of this resource has become of paramount importance. Consequently, as electricity consumption increases, the responsibilities of electricity distribution companies are also growing. In this thesis, we will examine the activities of the currently active distribution companies to understand their roles in the existing market and draw conclusions about their efficiency. To conduct the analyses, decisions were made regarding input and output. Input values such as land area, investment amount, total transmission line length, and the number of permanent employees were chosen. Total number of consumers, and Consumption of Consumers Connected to Distribution were chosen as output values. Using these values, the relative efficiencies of 21 operating companies were calculated for the year 2022.
