Abstract
The Eastern Mediterranean is a geo-strategic and geopolitically important region that has been one of the centers of power struggles throughout history. The region, which is one of the most critical sea passageways in the world, has become an important center for power struggle on a global scale with the rich natural sources discovered at the beginning of the 2000s. Along with the significant reserves found, the lack of exclusive economic zones on which the states of the region agree further complicates the issue. The issue of the Eastern Mediterranean maritime jurisdiction areas is a matter of interest to global actors as well as regional actors. Compared to other littoral countries, Turkey is the state with the longest coastline to the Eastern Mediterranean and is directly involved in the issue. The issue of sharing jurisdictions in the Eastern Mediterranean is a very important issue for Turkey, a country that is almost entirely a natural sources importer, both strategically and economically as it concerns primarily the Cyprus issue and other national issues. The theses of Greece and the Republic of Cyprus on the region contradict Turkey's theses. In this context, the policy to be implemented by Turkey, as well as the protection of its rights and interests, is extremely important and almost a matter of sovereignty.
