Abstract
Hizmet kalitesine olan artan önem, hizmet sunan işletme ve kurumların müşteri beklentilerini karşılamak için çalışmalarını artırmasına yol açmaktadır. Bu nedenle, hizmet kalitesinin düzenli aralıklarla ölçülmesi gerekmektedir. Üniversiteler de hizmet işletmeleri olarak faaliyet gösterdiklerinden, öğrencilere yönelik hizmet kalitelerini geliştirme sorumluluğunu taşımaktadırlar. Bu araştırmanın amacı, bir üniversitenin hizmet kalitesini ölçmek ve iyileştirmek için öneriler sunmaktır. Araştırma, tanımlayıcı nitelikte bir yöntemle yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın örneklemini Ankara'da bir vakıf üniversitesinin tıp fakültesindeki 200 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama yöntemi olarak anket kullanılmıştır ve örnekleme yöntemi kolayda örnekleme olarak belirlenmiştir. SERVQUAL yöntemi kullanılarak beklenen ve algılanan hizmet kalitesi ölçülmüştür. Bulgulara göre, SERVQUAL ölçeği skoru -1,3220 olarak hesaplanmıştır ve SERVQUAL puanları tüm hizmet kalitesi boyutlarında (somut özellikler, güvenilirlik, heveslilik, güven ve empati) negatif değerler sergilemiştir. Üniversitenin öğrencilere sunduğu hizmet kalitesinin, öğrenci beklentilerini karşılamada yetersiz olduğu ve algılanan hizmet kalitesinin beklenen hizmet kalitesinin altında olduğu söylenebilir. Ayrıca, algılanan ve beklenen hizmet kalitesinin öğrencilerin demografik özelliklerinden sadece bursluluk durumu değişkeni için anlamlılık gösterdiği gözlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, ileriki çalışmalar için öneriler sunulmuştur.
The increasing importance of service quality has led service providers and organizations to enhance their efforts in meeting customer expectations. Therefore, regular measurement of service quality is necessary. As universities operate as service businesses, they bear the responsibility of improving service quality for students. The aim of this research is to measure and provide recommendations for improving the service quality of a university. The study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method. The sample of the research consisted of 200 students from the medical faculty of a foundation university in Ankara. A survey was used as the data collection method, and convenience sampling was chosen as the sampling method. The SERVQUAL method was employed to measure the expected and perceived service quality. According to the findings, the SERVQUAL scale score was calculated as -1.3220, and the SERVQUAL scores exhibited negative values across all dimensions of service quality (tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy). It can be concluded that the service quality provided by the university is insufficient in meeting student expectations, and the perceived service quality falls below the expected service quality. Additionally, it was observed that perceived and expected service quality showed significance only for the variable of scholarship status among students' demographic characteristics. Consequently, recommendations are provided for future studies.
