Organizational Unit Department of International Relations(1997)Our Department has grown steadily since its establishment in the academic year of 1997 and 1998 both in terms of the numbers of graduate programs as well as the student intake. I am proud of saying that we now have three fully-fledged graduate studies offering programmes in English, Turkish or both. Currently, we have International Relations MA Programme in both Turkish and English and European Union MA Programme in Turkish.Organizational Unit Department of Computer Engineering(2002)Master program of Computer Engineering Department which was launched in February 2002 is one of the two oldest programs of Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences. The program has thesis and non-thesis master options. With the advantage of having highly qualified faculty members, our master program not only gives fundamental high level courses but also attaches importance to the advances in information and communication technologies. Almost all of the courses were designed to meet expectations of the industry and focus on the latest technological developments. It is also continuously being updated considering the needs of the local industry in this respect. Additionally, our program gives high priority to increase the research potential of its students.Organizational Unit Department of Architecture(2012)Architecture Integrated PhD Program, which was initiated in the year 2012 at the Graduate School of Natural & Applied Sciences, runs graduate education and research studies leading to PhD degree for the students bearing bachelor and master degrees. The offical educational language of the Program is Turkish. The Program is available for applications by graduates from different disciplines (architecture; urban design; city and regional planning; industrial design; interior design; landscape design) who wish to be researcher or academician in any of the areas of specialization in architecture specified by IMP. Architecture Master’s Programs (Thesis-Oriented & Project-Oriented) were started in the year 2018. The official educational languages of these Programs are Turkish and English. These programs are available for applications by canditates who have undergraduate degrees in architecture.Organizational Unit Department of Physics(2015)Applied Physics MS Program (APP) at Atilim University was established in April, 2015. APP embarked on its journey with the aim of conducting advanced research activities in physics. In the program, we are currently taking part in various research projects at international level as a team of eleven physicists. Our ultimate aim is to make APP an internationally recognized research program devoted to experimental and theoretical physics of high standards. The program has thesis and non-thesis master study options. In addition, most of the courses of MS program are designed to meet the requirements of the industry and provide the students with the most recent advances in the physics and technology. We, the physicists in APP, are all well aware of the fact that physics is the fundamental research area in all other natural and engineering sciences. In APP, we are endeavoring to teach our students high-level theoretical and experimental physics so that we will raise them as tomorrow’s highly motivated prospective researchers.Organizational Unit Department of Private Law(2015)Since the 2015-2016 academic year, under Atılım University Institute of Social Sciences, the graduate Master of Laws Programme under the name of “Private Law” is being given in order to construct a more intense, detailed and varied law education than the undergraduate education, for those who want to continue their works in one of the areas of private law. In this Programme, classes from the areas that comprise private law such as Civil Law, Commercial Law, Labor and Social Security Law, Private International Law, Civil Procedural Law are being lectured with the current body of law, including the most recent arguments and discussions in the field. Moreover, more specialised topics inside these areas of law such as trademark law, international jurisdiction of Turkish courts, law of employment contracts are being taught in order to have an insightful perspective. These classes allow graduate students to develop a better, more detailed and wider understanding of the point of views and arguments in the doctrine, as well as to do research, examine and write about those while enhancing their academic skills. A distinctive part of this Programme is that each class is elective besides compulsory Research Methods and Seminar classes. This grants students the opportunity to choose the area they want to work and specialize in and choose their classes according to that, freely. Therefore, students can personalize their education in the light of thaw interests in the vast field of work of private law that governs interpersonal relations.Organizational Unit Department of Mechanical Engineering(2016)The Mechanical Engineering Doctoral Program has started in 2016-2017 academic year. We have highly qualified teaching and research faculty members and strong research infrastructure in the department for graduate work. Research areas include computational and experimental research in fluid and solid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, advanced manufacturing, composites and other advanced materials. Our fundamental mission is to train engineers who are able to work with advanced technology, create innovative approaches and authentic designs, apply research methods effectively, conduct research and develop high quality methods and products in space, aviation, defense, medical and automotive industries, with a contemporary education and research infrastructure.Organizational Unit Department of International Trade and Logistics(2016)International Trade and Logistics Management Master Program was launched in 2016. The main objective of the program is to train candidates who will meet the requirements of being senior executives in international trade and logistics sectors. Besides, training of academic staff is another goal of the program. Thus, synergy is thought to be established connecting the experienced academicians in the field of two related subjects such as logistics and international trade. The program with and without thesis, aims to contribute to the ability of professionals and administrators from different disciplines such as international trade and logistics, business, economics, finance, engineering, tourism, law to use the theoretical knowledge they have learned by following the scientific developments in solving the problems they encountered in practice.Organizational Unit Department of Nursing(2021)Our department shall initiate a thesis graduate degree program in the field of Nursing for Gynecology and Obstetrics as the department highest in demand in terms of the Turkish health system and the schools of nursing and midwifery, in Fall 2020-2021.Organizational Unit Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental DesignThe master program in Interior Architecture and Environmental Design of Atılım University is aimed to support the attainments and skills gained through various fields with the theoretical and practical knowledge and to transfer this knowledge into scientific research environment in order to provide contributions to the scientific world, serve the society and acquire expertise in related fields. The program requires a thesis and includes a rich and concentrated curriculum, aiming to raise the awareness of students in the fields of structural physics, environmental psychology, history of architecture and cultural heritage, teach the scientific research methods and techniques as well as interdisciplinary research approaches.Organizational Unit Department of English Language and LiteratureOur M.A. and Ph.D. programs cover English Culture and Literature studies including the most recent studies in this field. The aim of these post graduate programs is to enable students to benefit from these studies to create original thoughts and views and also guide them in their academic studies, written in accordance with academic rules. The M.A. and Ph.D. programs have been opened under the department of English Language and Literature of the Graduate School of Social Sciences at Atılım University. The M.A. program was opened in 30.12.1998 and the Ph.D. program was opened in 15.10.2009, the titles of both were changed into “English Culture and Literature” in 23.09.2011 and in 02.08.2010 respectively. The courses in both programs cover mainly the studies that have been conducted in the field of English Literature and Culture and the aim of both programs is to provide students with the ability to develop their academic skills while doing academic research which will widen their academic horizons.Organizational Unit Department of Physiotherapy and RehabilitationThe Turkish-Medium Graduate Degree Program in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation is one of the first thesis graduate degree programs to start under Atılım University Graduate School of Health Sciences. The program is in Turkish. In order to register to the program, candidates are required to hold an undergraduate degree diploma in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, and meet the graduate degree education application criteria of Atılım University Graduate School of Health Sciences.Organizational Unit Department of Information Systems EngineeringInformation Technology (IT) is a pioneering and innovative educational program prepared in cooperation with IBM to educate human resources to meet our country's growing and changing information technologies requirements and expectations. IT Master's Program is going to eliminate the deficit of information specialist in the sector. The main purpose of the program is to teach the processes of information technology analysis, design, development and management with modern methods and tools and to provide and encourage leadership skills for the management of these processes. For this purpose, the curriculum of the program includes courses on IT Service Management, Cloud Computing, Virtualization, Service-Oriented Architecture, Business Process Modeling, Data and Network Security, Network Management, IT Strategy Planning and Governance, IT Economy and e-Commerce. Graduate program improves students' skills and abilities on critical thinking, written and oral communication, team working, and doing a scientific research with application of a variety of instructional methods and techniques. The program includes preparing a thesis and, in this scope, students are encouraged to conduct an original research on a subject to be specialized in a particular area of IT.Organizational Unit Department of Software EngineeringAccording to the requirements of the software sector, the curriculum of the department aims at graduating researchers and software experts who can work in any phase of large-scale software development processes. Big Data and Cloud Information Laboratories, MobiLab, Simlab and software training laboratories of our university are equipped with different hardware components and software tools which enable the students to use state-of-the-art software technologies and resources.Organizational Unit Department of Public LawDepartment of Public Law carries out education-training, research-application and other academic activities in graduate programs. In Public Law program, students receive education and training in public law from both quite valuable and experienced academicians and young and qualified instructors of the Faculty of Law. The objective of Public Law education and training is not to overfill the students with knowledge but to equip them with the capability to access information and conduct qualified and interdisciplinary research. The graduates of law and social sciences undergraduate programs may apply for the Public Law Master Program which includes the courses such as constitutional law, administrative law, human rights, theory of state and philosophy of law, and the students may prefer thesis or non-thesis program. The program aims to enable graduate students to develop a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach towards the law and tends towards active participation of students during lectures and development of their scientific research and publishing competences within this scope. The students who are not the graduates of the Faculty of Law are subjected to one-year scientific preparatory program before starting the master program.Organizational Unit Department of ChemistryDepartment of Chemistry continues contributing the science of chemistry at national and international level with its technical infrastructure, well-equipped and expert faculty, wide range of research subjects and laboratory infrastructure where the research projects are carried outOrganizational Unit Department of Chemical EngineeringResearch subjects based on Chemical Engineering origin covers applied and computational studies or both. Research studies under this origin focus mainly on the areas; clean energy production, catalytic combustion artificial neural networks, computational chemistry, electrochemistry, fuel cells and renewable energy. Chemistry-based group works on the areas such as biotechnology nanotechnology fuel cells and solar energy, drug design and development, polymer chemistry, dye and stain chemistry. In addition, the studies conducted in the graduate program also focuses on engineering applications and calculations of these fields.Organizational Unit Department of Tourism and Hotel ManagementThe objective of tourism master program is to give participants a professional competitive advantage by focusing on fundamental areas of tourism management including utilizing specific business tools and techniques for the hospitality industry and also development of the leadership skills essential to hospitality managers. The curriculum explores issues such as general tourism, legislation in tourism, research methodology, tourism economy, tourism marketing, sustainable tourism and in selected areas in tourism.Organizational Unit Department of Modeling and Design of Engineering SystemsThis is an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary program, uniquely designed to promote front edge technology at international level. The program is open to both Turkish and international students who are seeking for a well-established research environment with facilities on some specific areas towards advanced research studies. Intimate collaborations are established with research institutions and industry, and further innovative work is promoted. The program is developed as a research based interdisciplinary advanced study with interdisciplinary courses and an advanced research study leading to a Ph. D. thesis.Organizational Unit Department of Manufacturing EngineeringDepartment of Manufacturing Engineering enriched its infrastructure by establishing laboratories and research centers equipped with modern devices and machines of which details are available in the website of the department. Metal Forming Center of Excellence was established in 2010 with the financial support of the Turkish Ministry of Development. BOREN Center of Competence for Boron Coatings was also established in the same year with the financial support of the National Boron Research Institute. Both of the Centers are unique in their research areas in Turkey. Graduate Program of Manufacturing Engineering has thesis and non-thesis options. Our students aiming for the Ph. D. study in Manufacturing Engineering may pursue their study either in the Mechanical Engineering Ph. D. Program or in MODES (Modeling and Engineering System Design). All of our graduate programs are available for both part time and full time students.Organizational Unit Department of Industrial EngineeringThe Graduate Program of Industrial Engineering at Atilim University has a student-oriented approach and aims to raise graduates who are successful in national and international competition and also equipped with the contemporary knowledge in their field. The different and abundant technical elective course opportunities in our industrial engineering program stands as an advantage for our students as they allow them to pursue their career as industrial engineers in different sectors and/or fields.
