Conference Object Citation Count: 5A Cognitive Requirement Specification Model(2009) Cafer,F.; Mısra, Sanjay; Misra,S.; Computer EngineeringEliciting/Gathering information from the customers in requirement phase is the most crucial task in the development of the software development process, because this phase builds the base for the success or failure of any software product. Requirements specification process highly depends on the knowledge and mental abilities of the customers. In this paper, we are proposing a cognitive requirement specification model based on the cognitive classification of customers. © 2009 IEEE.Conference Object Citation Count: 4Effective Project Leadership in Computer Science and Engineering(2009) Cafer,F.; Mısra, Sanjay; Misra,S.; Computer EngineeringProject leaders are the most important individuals in projects. A project leader should follow some thinking styles and values which can lead his or her team to success. There is a common notion among software specialists that the more complex a project manager thinks, the better his leadership is. In this paper, we discuss the significance of simple thinking in project leadership. If the leader thinks in a simple way, then the risk of being suffocated in details is less. Complex thinking brings out greater risks of losing the general control of the system because of spending too much time and effort on details and, as a result, more confusion. Not only simplicity, but also psychological factors are important in guiding teams and developing projects in the most effective way. Here, we present a set of qualities for a good project leader in software engineering. In addition to that, we also demonstrate how cognitive and ethical issues affect leadership qualities. © 2009 Springer Berlin Heidelberg.Article Citation Count: 11Estimating Quality of Javascript(2012) Misra,S.; Mısra, Sanjay; Cafer,F.; Computer EngineeringThis paper proposes a complexity metric for Java script since JavaScript is the most popular scripting language that can run in all of the major web browsers. The proposed metric "JavaScript Cognitive Complexity Measure (JCCM)" is intended to assess the design quality of scripts. The metrics has been evaluated theoretically and validated empirically through real test cases. The metric has also been compared with other similar metrics. The theoretical, empirical validation and comparative study prove the worth and robustness of the metric.Conference Object Citation Count: 3A Multi-Paradigm Complexity Metric (mcm)(2011) Misra,S.; Mısra, Sanjay; Akman,I.; Cafer,F.; Computer EngineeringHuge amount of researches and software metrics have been proposed for procedural and object-oriented languages. However, there are only few metrics available in the literature related with multi-paradigm programming languages. In this paper, we propose a metric to evaluate the code written in multi-paradigm language. Our proposed metric can be used for most of the programming paradigms, including both procedural and object-oriented languages. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.Conference Object Citation Count: 3A Multi-Paradigm Complexity Metric (mcm)(2011) Mısra, Sanjay; Misra,S.; Akman,I.; Cafer,F.; Computer EngineeringHuge amount of researches and software metrics have been proposed for procedural and object-oriented languages. However, the numbers of specific software metrics to evaluate the JAVA code are limited. In this paper, we evaluate the applicability of a recently developed multi paradigm metric to JAVA projects. The experimentations show that the Multi paradigm metric is an effective measure for estimating the complexity of the JAVA code/projects, and therefore it can be used for controlling the quality of the projects. We have also evaluated the multi-paradigm metric against the principles of measurement theory.Conference Object Citation Count: 1A Software Metric for Python Language(Springer Verlag, 2010) Misra,S.; Mısra, Sanjay; Cafer,F.; Computer EngineeringThere are many metrics for evaluating the quality of codes written in different programming languages. However, no efforts have been done to propose metrics for Python, which is an important and useful language especially for the software development for the embedded systems. In this present work, we are trying to investigate all the factors, which are responsible for increasing the complexity of code written in Python language. Accordingly, we have proposed a unified metric for this language. Practical applicability of the metric is demonstrated on a case study. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
