Each optimization problem is based on a goal function with different performance indices. After optimization process, step response performance of AC and DC voltage controller of STATCOM, each having a PI controller cascaded with a lead/lag compensator, has been tested in PSCAD/EMTDC. Fast and absolute responses have been received from STATCOM control system which is connected to a 154 kV line.
