There are a variety of practical applications used in real-world problems such as high-definition content creation, surveillance imaging, gaming, and medical imaging. Super-resolution has been the subject of many researches over the past few decades, as improving image resolution offers many advantages. Going beyond the previously presented methods, Generative Adversarial Networks offers a very promising solution. In this work, we will use the Generative Adversarial Networks-based approach to obtain 4x resolution images that are perceptually better than previous solutions. Our extensive experiments, including perceptual comparison, Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio, and classification success metrics, show that our approach is quite promising for image super-resolution. © 2022 IEEE.Conference Object Citation - Scopus: 1Multiple Underwater Target Bearing Tracking Using Member Filter;(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2018) Gunes,A.; Guldogan,M.B.Underwater acoustic vector sensors (AVS) are devices which can measure scalar pressure and three dimensional acceleration or particle velocity with only one sensor. By using these four measurements, target detection and tracking is possible. In case multiple targets exist, multi-target detection and tracking methods must be applied. Because these methods are more general, the algorithms are more involved and complex. In this framework, multi-target multi-Bernoulli (MeMBer) is a promising filter based on random finite sets (RFS) for multi-target tracking problems. In this work, for the first time in the literature, MeMBer filter is analyzed using a single underwater acoustic vector sensor in a scenario including two targets. VE information system deals with highly dynamic information from heterogeneous data sources. In order to manage and store dynamic VE information in the database, an ontology based VE model has been developed. To select winner enterprises in VE, a Multi Agent System (MAS) has been developed. Communication and data transition among agents and system entities are based on defined rules in VE ontology model. One of the most important contributions of agents in VE system is in partner selection step of VE formation phase. In this step several agents with different goals and strategies are collaborating and competing each other to win the negotiation procedure or maximize the profit for their assigned enterprise. Different strategies are developed for the agents depending on their appetite for winning the auction against maximizing the profit. Several simulations were run and the results are stored. These results are fed into a neural network in order to predict which enterprise will win the auction and what will be the profit margin. The motivation is to provide a forecasting agent for the customers about the outcomes of the auctions so that they can plan ahead and take the necessary action. Early results indicate such simulated multi-agent VE formations can be used in real systems. It can help in changing undesirable habits and in improving a person’s subjective well-being. Sleep-wake behaviors are important determinants of day-to-day well-being. This study aims to find out whether it is possible to modify sleep-wake habits using gamification. To this end, a gamified alarm clock app, Sleepy Bird, was designed and tested in a user study with thirteen participants using gamified and thirteen participants using non-gamified versions for two weeks. The results indicate that the participants of the gamified version were more motivated to start the day at required times than the participants of the non-gamified version. In this study, we made an empirical comparative study to see the performances of alternative search algorithms under a quality model defined by an aggregated software fitness metric. We handled 20 different refactoring actions that realize searches on design landscape defined by combination of 24 object-oriented software metrics. The investigated algorithms include random, steepest descent, multiple first descent, multiple steepest descent, simulated annealing and artificial bee colony searches. The study is realized by using a tool called A-CMA developed in Java that accepts bytecode compiled Java codes as its input. BulentThe sine-wave permanent magnet brushless machine (PMSM) and Induction machine (IM) are the favorite motor types for traction applications. Modern permanent magnets (PM) are produced only in a few countries, and PM motors have higher efficiency. However, IM offers a robust, mature, rare-earth-material-free, and cost-effective. This study investigates the possibility of increasing IM efficiency by choosing an optimal bore diameter to reduce copper loss. Optimal bore diameter ensures that the motor operates at flux density levels that maintain a high power factor and give the possibility of increasing stator and rotor slot area to reduce copper loss. The investigation here is based on an experimentally verified FE model of the motor. This study illustrates that the rotor copper loss can be reduced by 25% with the choice of optimal bore diameter at rated voltage and frequency. This efficient model's performance is compared to one of the models that proved its accuracy in image classification competitions. The antenna is designed for experimental use at Ka band. The design process includes feeding structure for coaxial line and geometrical parameters of the antenna. The bandwidth of the antenna is measured as 2.25GHz, (S 11 ≤-10dB) which satisfies the requirements of targeted experimental study. A reference monopole is also designed for the measurements of antenna parameters. Antenna radiation pattern is measured with the reference monopole antenna using a VNA (S12) instead of typical signal generator/spectrum analyzer pair. Endoscopic surgery requires both hand skills, so, understanding the effect of using dominant or non dominant hand on mental workload is important to better design, develop and implement modeling and simulation environments to support real-life implementations of surgical procedures. This experimental study presents a simulation application of eye-tracking approach to understand mental workload in different hand conditions: dominant hand, non-dominant hand and both hand. The results of the study show that, performing simulated surgical tasks by both hands compared to dominant hand, increases mental workload which is evident by higher pupil size. Accordingly, to manage the mental-load problems of surgeons while performing complex tasks that require both hand usage simulation-based environments can be used. Consequently, collection of detailed information such as eye-data, can give several insights about the behaviors of the surgeons. Also, their required skills can be improved by development of simulation and training environments. © 2017 IEEE.
