Abstract

Cyprus has been dominated by many civilizations and states throughout history and has had a strategic position that directs international politics. After the British possession of the island, there were problems between the Greek and Turkish communities, which are the basic elements of the island of Cyprus, and these problems still continue. The subject of this study is the examination of Turkish Cyprus policy in line with the inter-communal talks for the solution of the Cyprus problem between 1974-1983. In particular, it was evaluated how the Cyprus policy of the internationally active states of the period played a decisive role in the Turkish policy. By taking a section from the Cyprus policy of Turkey and the Turkish Cypriot administration, the reasons for the establishment of the TRNC were revealed and a general evaluation was made.
