The Fractal Dimension of the Rise of an Empire

Abstract

The concept of a fractal dimension that characterises the nonlinear growth of very intricate dynamics of biological, chemical, and physical systems was utilized to model an old empire as a social system. The fractal concept has been applied to model the growth of the Ottoman Empire. It was shown that her growth has a fractal dimension equal to golden number.
