The aim of Atılım University Department of Tourism Management is to train tourism managers who are able to compete at an international level by offering quality education opportunities. Graduates employed as managers in the fields of accommodation, travel, catering, gastronomy, transportation, congress, conference organization begin their professional life while they are still interns. The academic staff consists of faculty members who are experts in their field, as well as sector professionals. With five years of education including the preparatory English courses offered, the courses of the department are in English. The course program consists of applied and theoretical courses devised with respect to the global trends in tourism. Students perform their internship studies at hotel chains, A-Class travel agencies and professional tourism companies. Our Department is in contract with universities abroad within the scope of the Erasmus student Exchange program. With its quality of education documented by TURAK (Tourism Education, Evaluation and Accreditation Board), Atılım university Department of Tourism Management is the first undergraduate program in Turkey to hold the accreditation.

Abstract

Teknolojinin gelişmesi ile birlikte turizm sektöründe yaşanan gelişmeler ve yenilikler ile insanların turizm faaliyetlerinden beklentileri de değişmiştir. Günlük hayatta yaşanan stres, çevresel baskı, sıkıcı rutinden kaçmak isteyen insanlar alternatif yeni turizm türlerine yönelmeye başlamıştır. Kaliteli yaşam deneyimi sunan, yerel halk ve kültürel faaliyetler ile içe olunan, destinasyonun yöreselliğinin ağır bastığı seyahat deneyimi sunan yavaş turizm faaliyeti yavaş şehirlerin otantik doğası, doğal güzellikleri ile turistlerin dikkatlerini çekerek ziyaret eğilimine yönelmelerini sağlamaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı; yavaş turizm yavaş turizm motivasyonları ve ziyaret eğilimleri arasındaki ilişki bağlantılarını araştırmaktır. Bununla birlikte; yavaş şehir felsefesi, yavaş şehir kriterleri, motivasyon faktörlerinin ziyaret eğilimine etkilerinin araştırmasının yapılması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında literatür çalışması yapılmıştır. Veriler anket yolu ile Türkiye'de yaşayan 258 gönüllü katılımcıdan toplanmıştır. Araştırmada oluşturulan hipotezlere uygun olarak Kısmı En Küçük Kareler-Yapısal Eşitlik Modellemesi (KEKK-YEM) ile veri analizleri yapılmıştır. Analizlerin sonucunda rahatlama, dahil olma, keşif, kaçış faktörlerinin ziyaret eğilimini olumlu yönde, kendini yansıtma faktörünün ise ziyaret eğilimini olumsuz yönde etkilediği tespit edilmiştir. With the development of technology, the expectations of people from tourism activities have changed with the developments and innovations experienced in the tourism sector. People who want to escape from the stress, environmental pressure, boring routine experienced in everyday life have started to turn to alternative new types of tourism. High quality living experience to the local community and participation in cultural activities, tourism activity of destinations offering authentic travel experience in the city of slow slowly outweigh the nature, tend to attract the attention of tourists with its natural beauty provides to visit. The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between deceleration tourism, tourism motivations, visiting trends and authenticity perception. However, it is aimed to investigate the effects of slow city philosophy, slow city criteria, motivational factors on the tendency to visit. Within the scope of the study, a literature study was conducted. The data were collected from 258 volunteer participants living in Turkey through a questionnaire. In accordance with the hypotheses established in the research, data analysis was carried out with the Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (KEKK-YEM). As a result of the analyzes, it was found that the factors of relaxation, inclusion, exploration, escape positively affect the tendency to visit, and the factor of self-reflection negatively affects the tendency to visit.
